Shot in stop-motion using a Nokia N8. This short film is like WOW! BRAVO!!!

Just 9 mm tall, Dot, the world's tiniest doll, is the hero of an action-packed adventure in a new stop-motion film created with a camera phone and a microscope.

The film, simply called Dot," was produced by Aardmann, the creators of Wallace and Gromit. It was commissioned as a
"viral" for Nokia and was made using the firm's Nokia N8 smartphone.

Wallace and Gromit are the main characters in a series comprising four British animated short films and a feature-length film by Nick Park of Aardman Animations.

Dot is to enter the Guinness Book of Records as the world's smallest film.

If you're planning to take up nursing in college, do not. Unless you're a hundred and one percent sure there'd be one hospital outside the archipelago that would employ you upon graduation or after passing your board exams. I believe the Philippines already had more than enough nurses for the next two centuries. Otherwise, no nursing board passer would ever have to pay a hospital just so they could work in there - without even a single centavo for salary.

If we can't trust our lives with someone underpaid, the more we can't to someone who'se, not only zero-paid but, worse, had to pay the employer just so he/she could worry.

Fast Cars

My main domain name sounds like the local slang for a beetle - you know, the old hunched back car model from Volkswagon. The whole of the internet denizens know me as Kotsengkuba, a beetle. But despite that fact, I don't really write about cars. I don't even have a passion for them. I love gadgets, gardening and photography more than anything under the great blue sky.

But today I am writing about cars. Not exactly about the technical side of the cars or the beautifully desined exteriors of a car or the expensive rims but about driving them or my lack of skill or ability to drive them.

I can't drive a car. Or at least I haven't tried yet. I've never even been enrolled in a driving school so I would say my skills in driving is technically zero. If arcades or bump cars would count as a driving skill, then I would say my car driving skill is not really zero.

But I can run bikes and motorcycles.

Having said that, I do not really dislike cars. As a matter of fact, I love cars and I really find them useful and I really hope that I could drive one soon.

On the contrary, I don't want to drive cars because driving one would mean I won't be able to sleep on the road during long distance travels.

I'm on my way to Meralco Foundation (Meralco Avenue, Ortigas) for our 2nd to the last day of training when I passed by the new 7-11 outlet in Olivarez Plaza to buy newspaper and e-load (or autoload) for my Globe Prepaid SIM. The cashier told me their system is not available but they have P100 prepaid cards.

I never thought these prepaid load cards still exist in the market. Ü

My attempt in creating a post with embedded photo attachment via email yesterday was 70 percent success and 30 percent failure. The entry was successfully posted but the embedded photo was resized using the “small” photo re-sizing, which I believe was the default size I have set when I first created a photo embed using Blogger’s photo upload tool. Also, the default writing font on my Microsoft Outlook was used in formatting the texts on the entry. Perhaps the default blogger template text formatting will be used had I used a text only email composer in sending the email post entry.

I’ll try again next time. Meanwhile, here’s a definition of Camphone according the The Rice University Neologisms Database

The attached photo is of a spider sitting on her web which I took one midnight in the backyard. I usually go to Park N Ride in Lawton, Manila to take bus going to Nasugbu, Batangas via Tagaytay City. But yesterday, I was so surprised to know that buses no longer park and pick up passengers there because good ole Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim banned all provincial buses for reasons only him and his city council knows.

Park N Ride is located at the back of the Metropolitan Theater.

I picked those sayote (chayote) a week ago from the backyard and I was told that they're too matured to be eaten (as vegestables) so I just left them outside and look - one of them has sprouts already!

According to Mr. Wiki (see link above), "the chayote (Sechium edule), also known as sayote, tayota, choko, chocho, chow-chow, christophene, mirliton, alligator pear, and vegetable pear, is an edible plant that belongs to the gourd family Cucurbitaceae along with melons, cucumbers and squash."

Reyes Barbecue: Giving your senses a vacation

My wife and I went to Nuvali in Sta. Rosa this afternoon for some "business" purposes. We had lunch at Reyes Barbecue because it was the cheapest diner in the area. My wife had grilled bangus and I had grilled chicken (see photo above), both came with java rice (I guess).

Guess what - both meals gave our senses of taste and smell some good vacation. Why - because not only they didn't smell like something grilled but also lack flavor. It's like eating grilled fish and chicken on television: you can see them but you won't know how they smelled or tasted like.

Project 365 Failed, Camphone Stories Rebirth!

When I had my 30th birthday this year, I started a certain photography project which I called Project 365 with this year's theme "Garbage Collection." Though for now I had to consider it failed because during the process of building up the photo blog, I got tangled with other tasks that I will no longer elaborate. Plus things like lack of gadgets, internet access and time.

So now I will have to consider it failed. So instead of having a yearly theme, this photo blog will have instead just one theme for its entire existence. Just like this blog's title says, the theme will be Camphone Stories - meaning all photos must be taken using a camphone, specifically (or at least while I don't have other camhones yet) my Sony Ericsson K790c.

Finally, I found a place for my camphone photos. My previously registered domain - camphonestories.com - has just expired without having proper contents. I thought of renewing it for a few attempts but finally realized a blogger subdomain will be more than enough for my contents.

Anyway, I'm already on my way of organizing my photos in Flickr and once I can catch up with the remaining tasks, I will be updating this blog for more.
